Kia ora Visitor, The year is flying quickly by. Please see below some news from the ATANZ board. News from the world of Assistive TechnologyTrial equipmentPlease make sure all trial equipment is returned on time to ensure a smooth transition for the next trials. If the device comes back broken or missing parts, then an invoice will be sent.
We have recently spent over $500 replacing chargers and cases, this impacts on others being able to trial devices. GrantsWe have grants available for ATANZ members and Whānau who support AAC device users. We have recently increased the value of our grants.
Please help us by spreading the word to your colleagues and Whānau you work with.
Whānau Professional Development and Learning Grant - a one off grant of up to $750 for people who would like to attend a PD event to support an AAC user.
ATANZ Professional Development Grant - up to $750 to support ATANZ members to attend a professional development event to develop their knowledge of assistive technology.
ATANZ Post Graduate Research Grant - up to $1500 to ATANZ members seeking to conduct research that will benefit those who use assistive technology.

I am really looking forward to the switch access PD as it's covering a range of very useful topics. I hope I will gain more speiclalist knowledge around positioning of switches and how to implement switching into daily life. Many thanks to ATANZ for the grant.

SLT at WVSS. Thank you ATANZ for supporting me to attend this PD. I am excited to get hands on experience with the latest switch technology and to come away with interactive games I can implement with the learners within their school day.
