SETT, more relevant than ever!
Joy Smiley Zabala, Ed.D., is a general and special educator who has spent over 25 years conducting professional development and training for students, families, education agencies, organizations, companies, and others across the U.S.A. and abroad to expand the use of assistive technology (AT) as a means to increase the communication, participation and productivity of people with disabilities. She received her B.A. in Education from the University of Florida, her M.Ed. from Florida Atlantic University, and her Ed.D. from the University of Kentucky with an emphasis on personnel preparation using distance education tools and strategies. She holds the Assistive Technology Practitioner credential issued by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).
The SETT Framework webinars are two webinars of 1.5 hours. The first webinar is on the 7th of May. The second on the 21st of May.
The SETT Framework is a four part model intended to promote collaborative decision-making in all phases of assistive technology service design and delivery from consideration through implementation and evaluation of effectiveness.
At the end of these webinars, participants will:
1. know what the SETT framework is
2. be able to adapt the SETT to their clients environment
3. know how to put the SETT Frame work into practice
4. have an understanding of how to use the SETT frame work both with paediatric as well as adult clients
NB: These webinars will be recorded and made available to registered participants after the webinar, in case participants are not able to attend the live webinars.
